I have the best husband ever! He has been there for me every step of they way! I started my own business in December of 06. It was a liquidation store, but closed it so I could go back to school. I am currently working at Lambert's Cafe'. I've worked there for almost seven years. I go to school and wait table either morning or night. I have a very busy schedule!

Lessons learned

I'm just getting started in my elementary education degree, but I've learned a lot this semester. In my P.E, rhythms and movements class, I've learned how to incorporate different subjects into the games. In EDM310, I've learned a lot of technology that I can use with the children and the parents. In Art, I have done lots of activities that can be incorporated into the classroom. So far all my classes have been great! I've learned a lot and have much more to learn!

Public vs Private

Public vs Private schools, well I'd rather teach at a public school. The pay is much better than a private school. Also in Public schools, they have good benefits such as health care. There is also more opportunities to get involved. In private schools it would be smaller classrooms and more time to get help your children learn more. As for me, I'm sticking with Public schools.

2 years from now...

I hope to be finished from school and teaching. My goal is to teach at Magnolia School in Magnolia Springs, AL. It's a new school and close to where I live! I also know a few people that work there. I plan on substituting here soon to get my foot in the door in the future! If not at Magnolia school then Foley Elementary school. It's less than a mile from my house. They also made a new addition to the school!

Ideas for teaching.

At this day and age, there is so much available for a teacher. I would love to do Geocashing. This is where something is placed in a container, you use the GPS to locate the container. Along the way a science lesson, etc could be taught on the way! You take something and leave something. This makes it fun and sometimes the children need different ways to learn. I'd also like to have my children to blog. This is all new to me, but computers and technology is the wave of the future. Instead of the children writing a log and telling different stories etc. They can do it in there blog and add pictures, etc! I want my teaching to be a lot of hands on activities!

My goals as a teacher!

My goals as a teacher is to keep my children up to date with the latest technology, introduce them to new things, have lots of hands on activities, try to keep the children at the same level, and help them where help is needed! I want to make my classroom a fun and exciting place. I've had my share of boring teachers and have on this semester in college. You need to keep your children involved and make it fun! I will learn from my mistakes and make changes to make my classroom better!
